Norway funds a $108.1 million Ukraine support deal
The Defense Department says the package contains no major defense equipment. It is meant to bolster Ukraine’s integrated air defense with spare parts, technical help and related support.
A Norway-funded $108.1 million package will provide Ukraine with spare parts, technical help and related support for its integrated air defenses, the Defense Department said. The deal includes no major defense equipment, according to the unclassified notice.
Effective date: Wednesday, June 17, 2026
The package is valued at $108.1 million. Major defense equipment is listed at $0, which means the notice is focused on support items and services rather than a large weapons system.
What the package covers
The notice says the proposed purchase would include erectable mast trailers, major modifications and maintenance support, spare parts, consumables and accessories, repair and return support, U.S. government and contractor engineering and technical help, logistics support services, and other related program support.
The policy justification gives the package a name, Ukraine Hawk Sustainment, and describes it as support for Ukraine's integrated air defense capability.
Why officials say it matters
The justification says the sale would support U.S. foreign policy and national security goals by helping a partner country in Europe. It says the package would improve Ukraine's ability to deal with current and future threats and support self-defense and regional security missions.
Sierra Nevada Corporation in Englewood, Colorado, is listed as the principal contractor. The notice says no offset agreement is known at this time, no additional U.S. government or contractor representatives would be needed in Ukraine, and the sale would not have an adverse effect on U.S. defense readiness.
