A bill for the clock
Cboe EDGX put the core service at $7,500 a month, with a 1 gigabit per second physical port used solely for the clock signal. The exchange also set a $2,500 monthly fee for a redundant connection and a $5,000 one-time High-Accuracy Timing IP Core setup fee for each physical connection that needs it.
The exchange says new users get a 30-day free trial, and the service is available to members and non-members alike. But for broker-dealers, market makers and other firms that build their business around speed and consistency, even a specialized clock can become part of the infrastructure budget instead of a background convenience.
