Louisiana lawmakers keep lead checks for child care centers, pre-K

Louisiana’s child-care lead-safety bill got a small but exacting edit. In the part that says the department may enter into outside agreements, lawmakers changed the wording from “memoranda of agreements” to “a memorandum of agreement,” while keeping the bill focused on lead hazard risk assessments for certain child care facilities and prekindergarten programs.
